Biography

      I am family oriented and take great pride in taking care of my loved ones. I was brought up to care about the wellness of others and try to make a difference when possible in their lives. I have helped the needy in the community by volunteering my time and even performing in a Ruritan's Club variety show that helped victims of house fires and women of domestic violence in the local community. 

     Throughout my career in Ohio, I have had the opportunity to serve as an educator while continuing to meet the specific needs of my students. I began at Grand River Academy where I specialized in teaching students diagnosed with ADHD. Through specialized training at the Academy, I was able to provide the students with exceptional experiences and instruction. At Chardon Local Schools, I had the unique opportunity to aid with the rewriting of the district-wide art curriculum.

     In 2011 I was offered a teaching position in Fredericksburg, Virginia at Fredericksburg City Schools. This opportunity was a true blessing. My family loves living in Virginia and we have met many wonderful people during our 4 year stay. I currently teach art and have had the opportunity to substitute as an acting administrator.

     In 2014 I made the choice to return to school for Administration and Supervision at the University of Mary Washington. This was the best choice that I have ever made. I have truly enjoyed the experience and have grown as a teacher and leader. During my administrative internship, I worked with fantastic people who helped me further strengthen my experience and abilities. In addition to my preperation at UMW, I was selected to be a member of the SCOPE 10 Cohort through the University of Virginia. This elite experience has allotted me the opportunity to meet, share and learn from experienced administrators in the field. 

I am excited about what the future may bring and thankful for all of the opportunities that I have experienced throughout my journey.
